How to get the best from your Mereside Candle
A little care goes a long way. Follow these simple tips to enjoy your Mereside Candle Co candle safely and make the most of its beautiful fragrance.
Your First Burn
Allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface, as close to the edge of the vessel as possible. This helps prevent tunnelling and encourages an even burn throughout the life of your candle. Never burn a candle for longer than 4 hours at a time.
Trim Your Wicks
Before every burn, when the wax has cooled and set, gently trim each wick to approximately 5 mm. Remove any wick trimmings or debris from the wax. If your candle has three wicks, always light all three together for an even melt.
Find the Perfect Spot
Place your candle on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, curtains and anything flammable. Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and do not move it while the wax is hot.
When to Stop Burning
Stop using your candle when approximately 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. The glass can become very hot during use, so always allow it to cool completely before touching or moving it.
After Each Burn
Extinguish your candle carefully, without splashing hot wax, and allow it to cool before relighting. Keep the wax pool clear of matches and other debris, and follow any safety instructions on your candle label.
